After a decade away, Justin returns home following the unexpected death of his mother. This heartbreaking event compels him to confront not only grief but also his estranged brother, who betrayed him years ago while he was serving in the Marines. During a deer hunt in the dense woods, they come upon a severely beaten woman left for dead. In the most trying circumstances imaginable the brothers must set aside their differences and rely on each other if they hope to survive a ruthless barbaric cult determine to reclaim her.
THOUGHTS:
Unless I am convinced otherwise, this will be my 2nd full feature screenplay. Hopefully I might be more involved in the movie process.
This story draws heavy on the relationship of the two brothers and how they overcome the great betrayal of the younger brother. I am sure there are many similar plots out there where through the experience of facing great adversity together strong foundational family emotions of love rise to the top and lessen the perceived backstabbing. However, the adversity the brother's face in this story against multiple very hostile antagonist is daunting. Its going to take a lot of courage and commitment to wiping the woods with blood to survive.
